The results of the artistic residency Escritos na Paisagem will be presented on the 17th and 18th of November, by the Associação Casa-Museu José Pinto Contreiras, in Gorjões (Faro).
This residency and artistic intervention project, in partnership with the artist Sofia Guerreiro, was developed on the Rota dos Poços in Gorjões, and aimed to «record and value the decisive importance of the memories of the use of water from the wells on Estrada da Fonte da Murta, between Lugar do Alto and Poço da Nora».
In the first phase, in June and July, audio and video recordings of «old memories of water were made, together with current and former inhabitants of the parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe, which served as a basis for studies of the process of experimenting with artistic intervention », held in August at Galeria do Alto.
In the second phase, in September and October, the artistic work gained «its indispensable educational dimension», with the participation of the 3rd and 4th year classes at Escola Bárbara de Nexe, which included a study visit to Rota dos Poços and a set of educational and artistic dynamics at the School.
Next Friday, the 17th, from 10 am, the film of the residency process will be shown, followed by a display of artistic works carried out by the students, scattered along the route of Rota dos Poços and which will be attended by the classes and their teachers.
On Saturday (18), starting at 15pm, the presentation of Sofia Guerreiro's artistic installation – Escritos na Paisagem - will take place, which includes a film and image showing of the residency process, preparatory drawings for the installation and poems about water, by authors da Poesia 00, spoken by Tápê and Sérgio Contreiras.
At the end a drink will be served. Entry is free.
