Quarteira: Festival in Honor of Our Lady of Conceição takes place on the 7th and 8th of December

Celebrations begin with a candlelight procession and end with a blessing from the fishermen

Quarteira once again celebrates its patron saint, Nossa Senhora da Conceição, on the 7th and 8th of December.

The celebrations begin with the candle procession, on the evening of the 7th, at 21 pm, between the churches of Nossa Senhora da Conceição and São Pedro do Mar.

The following day is marked by the celebration of the Eucharist in the Church of São Pedro do Mar, at 14 pm, followed by the solemn procession towards the sea.

As usual, there will be a meeting of the two images of Our Lady of Conception at the Quarteira Fishing Port.

The image of the Capelinha do Porto de Pesca will be carried by the fishermen with the parade of decorated fishing vessels, while the image of the Parish Church will follow the men of the river along the waterfront, to the meeting point of the two processions.

After greeting the patron saint and blessing the fishermen and their boats, the two images return to the chapels.

These ceremonies will be broadcast live on the Facebook and Youtube pages of the Quarteira Parish Council for those who cannot be present.

The day ends with musical entertainment to the sound of Humberto Silva, the sale of Ramos, auction of offers and diverse gastronomy.

The Festa da Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Quarteira is organized by the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Conceição Quarteira, Parish Council of Quarteira and Municipal Council of Loulé.
