Rewarding, encouraging and honoring the athletes from Odemira who stood out, in different modalities, is the main objective of the 2nd edition of the Sports Gala that the Odemirense Chamber will promote on December 8th, at Cineteatro Camacho Costa, at 19:00 pm.
The Sports Gala «marks the municipality's sports panorama and rewards all the sports agents who stood out each year and all those who throughout their lives played a leading role in the development of this sport», according to the Chamber of Odemira.
At the event, prizes will be awarded in three categories: Merit, Distinction and Federated Sports, aimed at athletes, clubs, associations and other agents included in the Municipality's Sports Associativism or natives of the municipality of Odemira.
The “Merit” category includes the Sports Association/Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Manager of the Year, Sportsman of the Year (Female and Male), Coach of the Year, New Sportsman of the Year, Sports for All, Sports Project and School Sports Awards. .
In the “Distinction” category, the Sports Merit Award will be awarded to personalities for their contribution to sports over the years, «giving honor to the name of the municipality in the regional, national or international sports panorama».
In Federated Sports, recognition diplomas will be awarded to athletes and teams for their performance in sports federations, in the Sports Public Utility Statute, according to the premises: Participation in Olympic Games, World, International and European Championships and National Champions and Runners-up .
Public voting for the winners of the “Merit” category awards takes place here until November 30nd.
