Prova de Santo Huberto, Portuguese Cup for Showing Dogs, Partridge Start, Dog Competition, hunting demonstrations, crafts, equestrian activities, seminars, regional gastronomy, sporting activities and music. These are some of the ingredients of the XIV Feira da Perdiz, which will take place on Avenida dos Almocreves, in Martim Longo, tomorrow and Sunday, the 11th and 12th of November.
Aiming to «promote the municipality's extraordinary hunting conditions», the event is organized by the Municipality of Alcoutim and has free entry.
The official opening is scheduled for tomorrow, November 11th, Saint Martin's Day, at 12 pm.
Before that, the Santo Huberto Trial, a test counting towards the National Championship, will take place outside the fairgrounds, at 07:30 am, and at the same time the Taça de Portugal de Cães de Barros will take place.
Both races will also take place on Sunday, at the same time, in Chada d'Aroeira, just outside Martim Longo, when heading to Vaqueiros.
At 8 am there will also be a Partridge Launch that will take place in the Medronhais Associative Hunting Zone. At 00 pm, the XIV Alcoutim Dog Competition will take place in the Demonstration Area.
The event will feature stands from companies and associations in the sector, exhibitions of hunting species, dog competitions, hunting demonstrations, crafts, equestrian activities, kinesthetic demonstrations, seminars, regional gastronomy, sporting activities such as the IV Trail on Rota da Perdiz, which will take place on Sunday at 9:30 am, and some activities aimed at younger people.
The musical entertainment will be provided by Rosinha, on Saturday, at 22 pm, and by the group “De Moda em Moda”, on Sunday, at 00:18 pm.
Also noteworthy is the entertainment that took place over the two days of the event, carried out by Grupo Coral Guadiana de Mértola, “Volta e Meia” and Grupo “Água Ardente” – Produções Teatrais.
