Faro launches celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April with a concert by the Orquestra do Algarve

Concert will have Sérgio Carolino as soloist

The celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, in Faro, will be launched with a concert by Orquestra do Algarve, accompanied solo by tuba player Sérgio Carolino, scheduled for Friday, December 1st, at 19pm, at the Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina

The special guest of this concert, which will be directed by maestro Martim Sousa Tavares, is a «Portuguese tuba player of international prominence, having participated in the most varied innovative musical projects with his instrument, including jazz, improvised music and the classical repertoire» , according to the Chamber of Faro.

The lineup for this «unprecedented concert» will feature works by Tatiana Stankovych, Daniel Shvetz, Étienne Crausaz and Franz Schubert.

The show, aimed at the entire population, has free entry, will mark the official start of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April of the Municipal Assembly of Faro and the City Council of Faro.
