The PSP arrested two men, in Portimão, for committing crimes of domestic violence and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The first arrest occurred when, last Sunday, the Portimão PSP went to an incident of domestic violence. At the scene, they found that the victim had body marks resulting from attacks, having detained the 49-year-old suspect in the act. A knife with a 20 cm blade was also seized, with which the suspect allegedly threatened the victim.
The detainee was present at his first judicial interrogation this Monday, and the measure of coercion of periodic appearances at the PSP Police Station was applied to him, while he awaits trial.
The second arrest, of a 63-year-old man, took place on Monday, following an investigation carried out by the Portimão Criminal Investigation Squadron, in which evidence of the crime of domestic violence was found. In addition to the arrest, a house search was carried out, and a 12mm caliber shotgun was seized, as the suspect did not have legal authorization to possess this weapon.
The detainee was present at his first judicial interrogation yesterday, and was given the coercive measure prohibiting contact with the victim and requiring him to attend a program designed to combat his dependence on alcoholic beverages.
