Algarve 2030 monitoring committee meets in Lagos

Pursuing a strategy of proximity and regional cohesion

The ALGARVE 2030 Regional Program Management Authority and the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) will promote, on November 10th, in Lagos, the third session of the ALGARVE 2030 Program Monitoring Committee. 

With the participation of representatives from the services of DG Regio and DG Employment of the European Commission and the Agency for Development and Cohesion, the national entity responsible for the technical coordination of the implementation of European Funds, this meeting will take place in Lagos, pursuing a strategy of proximity and of regional cohesion, which will assess the state of implementation of the European Funds and the Portugal 2030 warning plan in the Region, as well as the evaluation, communication and training plans of the ALGARVE 2030 Regional Program.

During the afternoon, members of the Monitoring Committee visit operations supported by European Funds managed in the Algarve, promoted by public and private entities, in the areas of job creation and productive diversification, preservation and enhancement of natural and built heritage, culture, education, training and social innovation.

The Monitoring Committee is made up of the Steering Committee and six dozen representatives from the body coordinating cohesion policy funds, the certification authority, intermediate bodies, services and bodies of the Central Administration, the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities ( ANMP), the National Association of Parishes (ANAFRE), the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL), the Algarve Regional Council, the Permanent Commission for Social Concertation of the Economic and Social Council
(CES), the Permanent Commission for the Social and Solidarity Sector, the Intersectoral Coordination Council of CCDR Algarve, the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP), the Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes (CCISP) and the National Youth Council ( CNJ).

In addition, the Portuguese Confederation of Environmental Defense Associations (CPADA), the Portuguese Platform of Non-Governmental Organizations for Development (ONGD ADRA), Local Development Agencies (through the Minha Terra Federation), representative business associations will be present. of the Region (NERA and AHETA), the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE),
regional agents and institutions in the area of ​​art and culture (Orquestra do Algarve) and bodies responsible for promoting social inclusion, fundamental rights, the rights of people with disabilities, gender equality and non-discrimination.

Under the terms of the governance model for European funds, established by Decree-Law No. 5/2023 of January 25, the Monitoring Committee is the body responsible for monitoring their performance, and meets at least once a year .
