Artist and sound landscaper will talk about the work carried out by the Fungo Azul association

Castro Marim and Lagos will host conversations about sound, heritage and soundscapes, led by Carlos Norton, artist and soundscaper, on the 8th and 10th of November, Wednesday and Friday, respectively.

The sessions will cover the work of the Fungo Azul association in collecting soundscapes, artistic sound interventions and sound design, such as the ASPA – Arquivo Sonoro Paisagístico do Algarve.

On November 8th, at 18pm, the Castro Marim Sound Archive will be presented in the auditorium of the Municipal Library of this municipality.

«Developed over more than a year, the archive, built by Fungo Azul, is one of the multiple results of the Particular Universal project, funded by European EEA Grants, which took place in the Algarve municipality and which is now coming to an end. In the public presentation, Carlos Norton will present some emblematic sounds of the municipality as well as all the logistics and fundamentals of the construction of this vast sound archive», according to Fungo Azul.

On Friday, the 10th, the conversation will take place in Lagos, at 18:30 pm, at the Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos and within the scope of the Pedra Dura Festival.

«”The Sound around us” is a lecture that will talk about sound and silence, music and pauses, fullness and emptiness. Carlos Norton will explore the sound that surrounds us and talk about the physics of sound, as part of the research and artistic work he has developed in the area", describes the association.

Both events are free entry.
