The women's teams from the Football Club “Os Armacenenses” and Portimonense Sporting Clube played this Saturday, November 25th, in “a historic game”.
Counting for the 7th round of Series 1 of the Algarve Futebol 9 Children's League, the meeting marks the first time that two 100% female teams, participating in a men's competition, face each other in Algarve Football Association competitions.
The game took place at Armação de Pêra Municipal Stadium, where CF “Os Armacenenses” hosted Portimonense SC, in a game in which the visiting team came out on top, 2-4.
The Algarve Football Association defines this match as «a milestone in Women's Football in the Algarve».
