Ana Passos will re-apply for the position of president of the Structure of Socialist Women – Equality and Rights of the Algarve (MS-ID Algarve) in the elections scheduled for the beginning of February 2024.
The elections take place on the same day that the incumbents will be chosen for the bodies of the Federation of the Algarve of the Socialist Party, which are held «for reasons of adjusting the electoral calendar» and imply «an interruption of the current mandate of the same bodies».
«It is important to continue and develop the program that had been elected, for a 2-year term, and which will be interrupted», revealed Ana Passos, who is the current president of the Socialist Women of the Algarve, position to which she was elected about a year ago.
Despite considering that «a lot has been done in the last 10 months», the re-candidate considers «that a lot remains to be done» and the «challenge will be demanding».
«The task will not be easy. However, I believe that, for PS and the Algarve, it will be worth it. We will affirm the values of the uncompromising defense of a sustainable Social State and a region with quality of life in all its dimensions", he assured.
«This re-candidacy will be transversal, of union and open to all women, without exception, regardless of their personal options and convictions. The values of freedom, equality and solidarity, as always, will guide my action because only in this way will it be possible to contribute to the construction of a better society for everyone», concluded Ana Passos.
