Portimonense beat Sporting da Covilhã 4-1 in a game counting for the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup played today, Friday, in the city of Beira.

Portimonense took the lead very early in the match, after just six minutes, through Gonçalo Costa, after a pass from Igor Formiga.

In the 28th minute, the home team saw their lives getting more complicated, with Adams being sent off, for a straight red, after a harsh tackle on Lucas Ventura.

Still, the result did not change until half-time.

However, as soon as the second half began, Portimonense scored two quick goals.

Dener, in the 47th minute, put the Algarve team up 2-0 and, two minutes later, in the 49th minute, Carlinhos scored another great goal.

The count was not yet closed and Rildo, in the 79th minute, made it 4-0.

Covilhã still had time to reduce the deficit, with a goal from Diogo Ferreira, in the 88th minute, which sealed the final result at 4-1 for Portimonense.

With this victory, Portimonense guaranteed their presence in the next round of the Portuguese Cup.
