A walk, followed by a mountain tour, are the ingredients of another walking tour of S. Martinho in the village of Cortelha, in the parish of Salir, municipality of Loulé, which will take place on November 12th, a Sunday, at 8:30 am.
This initiative, organized by the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha, has the main objective of «promoting and promoting Serra do Caldeirão», and showing all participants «not only the paths, but also the beautiful landscapes of the Cortelha area».
A particularity of this different walk is that it provides a scenery that is only possible to see at this time of year, since the interior of the municipality of Loulé «has a reddish tone caused by the extensive area of strawberry forest existing in this area».
Along the route of approximately 10 kilometers, participants can observe a windmill, the typical traditional schist houses and drink water from the fountains, «a very present symbol in the rural heritage of Caldeirão».
At the end, all participants are invited to «a true mountain magusto, where there will certainly be no shortage of chestnuts, sweet potatoes, chorizo, cheese, homemade bread and medronho brandy».
Registration costs 15 euros (non-members) and 12 euros (members) and must be done online. Payment will be made at the tour secretariat, on November 12th, before departure.
This initiative is organized by the Associação dos Amigos da Cortelha and has the support of the Municipality of Loulé, the Parish Council of Salir.
