Mega fitness class raises donations for the Algarve Oncological Association

This mega fitness class took place as part of the “Pink October” movement

A mega fitness class, with donations going to the Algarve Oncological Association, took place on Sunday, October 22nd, at the Municipal Pavilion of Castro Marim.

The initial idea was to go on a walk, but weather conditions forced the Castro Marim Parish Council to change plans.

Around 60 people joined the initiative and the donations collected, in exchange for a solidarity t-shirt, will now be delivered to the Algarve Oncological Association.

This mega fitness class took place within the scope of the “Pink October” movement that was born in the United States of America in the 90s of the last century, with the aim of inspiring change and mobilizing society to fight against breast cancer.

Since then, the color pink has been used to honor women with breast cancer, raise awareness about prevention and early diagnosis and support research in this area and, more recently, for cervical cancer.

The action was supported by the Municipality of Castro Marim and Supermercado Corvo.
