A 27-year-old young man was seriously injured after being run over by a train on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 10, near the Captaincy of Faro.

The alert was given at 13:09 pm.

A source from the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command told Sul Informação that the young man was “transported to the Hospital de Faro».

Circulation was interrupted for around an hour, “but has now been restored”.

There were 16 operatives on site, supported by six Fire Brigade and INEM vehicles.
