INE confirms inflation rate at 3,6% in September

Rate lower by 0,1 percentage points than in August

The year-on-year rate of change in the Consumer Price Index (IPC) was 3,6% in September, a rate 0,1 percentage points lower than in August, the National Statistics Institute (INE) announced today.

INE thus confirms the estimate it had made at the end of September.

As for the underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding unprocessed food and energy products), it was 4,1% in September (compared to 4,5% in August).

The variation in the index for energy products was -4,1% (-6,5% in August) and the index for unprocessed food products slowed to 6,0% (6,4% in August).

Comparing September with August, the IPC variation was 1,1% (0,3% in August and 1,2% in September 2022), with the average variation in the last 12 months being 6,3% (6,8 .XNUMX% in August).
