“The Lynx on the Peninsula” exhibition passes through Alcoutim

The exhibition will visit the 13 municipalities that are part of CIMBAL, in addition to three in the Algarve (Alcoutim, Tavira and Silves) and Lisbon

The exhibition “The Lynx in the Peninsula – Connecting Territories and Consolidate Populations”, promoted by CIMBAL – Baixo Alentejo Intermunicipal Community, opens on November 9th, at 16pm, at the Municipal Library of Alcoutim.

The objective of the exhibition is to present to Portuguese society the work carried out, in progress and planned for the future, within the scope of the conservation of the Iberian Lynx.

The exhibition will visit the 13 municipalities that are part of CIMBAL, in addition to three in the Algarve (Alcoutim, Tavira and Silves) and Lisbon.

The exhibition developed by CIMBAL, partner of the Life Lyxnconnect project, with the technical and scientific support of ICNF – Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests, IP, will be on view in the municipality of Alcoutim until November 30th.

Associated with the exhibition, two moments of awareness and communication will be promoted about the importance of reintroducing the Iberian lynx with stories and tales about the species that will be shared by comedian Jorge Serafim also on the 9th of November, in the morning for the school community and in the afternoon for the general population, from 18 p.m.

This project, which brings together 20 Iberian partners, has as coordinating beneficiary the Consejería de Agricultura, Ganadería, Pesca y Desarrollo Sostenible of the Junta de Andalucía, and on the part of Portugal, in addition to CIMBAL, Infraestruturas de Portugal and ICNF participate as partners. – Institute for Nature and Forest Conservation.
