A small ceremony to welcome students marked the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, at the Portimão School of Hotel and Tourism, on October 2nd.
Already in the new facilities, the school's teaching and non-teaching staff welcomed the students in the institution's auditorium, «in a session that aimed not only at their welcome and the formal presentation of the school, but also at their harmonious integration into a new world which is now open to these young people, who begin their training in the field of tourism», highlights the school.
In his opening speech, Pedro Moreira, director of the School, emphasized “the importance of following the school's values: love, respect, commitment and responsibility, to achieve success, not only in the academic career, but also in future profession that they will soon embrace, in a sector in constant change and with high levels of demand».
Patrícia Correia, general director of Monte Santo Resort, was the guest speaker for this opening session.
«His inspiring presentation led the audience through personal and professional stories and experiences that demonstrate the relevance of creativity and resilience in managing our daily lives in a hotel unit, identifying tourism professionals as “ambassadors of our country”, thus emphasizing the importance of each person's work for the success of an organization and the sector», adds the School.
His intervention ended with the mention of «ethics as the best business card for any professional», calling on new students to always act ethically towards the company that would welcome them in the future.
The ceremony ended with the delivery of diplomas of academic merit and certificates of participation in the regional Eco-cozinheiros test promoted by ABAE in the 2022/2023 eco schools project, to students from previous years.
