Users of “Apanha-me!”, the urban transport network in the Municipality of Loulé, can now locate their bus in real time, using an application developed by a European technological innovation project, called Digital Bus.
This project is being promoted by the municipal company Loulé Concelho Global and is the result of an initiative by the EIT Urban Mobility Institute, a European Union organization, with two technological companies as partners – NEMI Mobility Solutions SL and Factual Consulting Barcelona -, the Center for Environmental Studies of Spain, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and the Municipality of Vilafranca del Penedés, in Catalonia.
In the municipality of Loulé, the Digital Bus project «aims to promote the use of public transport through the provision of digital tools to support users by providing real-time information on the location of buses that circulate on the “Apanha-me!” network», according to Loulé Concelho Global.
«With the aim of facilitating the use of the municipal urban transport network, the digital application will respond to users' greatest needs, such as bus departure and arrival times, bus travel and arrival times and real-time location of buses» .
Those interested in using this tool should download the NEMI application for free from the Playstore or AppStore.
