153 accidents recorded in the last week in the Algarve

During this period, 29 people were arrested

The GNR recorded, in the week of 9 to 15 October, 153 accidents in the Algarve, which resulted fromtwo seriously injured and 30 light.

Data on prevention operations, combating violent crime and road inspection were released this Monday, October 16, and also show 546 offenses detected.

Of the infractions, 150 stand out for speeding, 62 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 50 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 40 due to improper use of a cell phone while driving, 27 due to lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems and 18 due to lack of civil liability insurance.

During this period, 29 people were arrested: 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol, seven for driving without a legal license and five for drug trafficking. 

Between October 9th and 15th, 188 doses of hashish, 64 doses of cocaine and a hunting weapon were also seized.
