The Campus Carby VW Ladies Open will be the most important women's tournament ever in the Algarve

The champion will receive 70 points for the WTA ranking

The Campus Carby VW Ladies Open, which will take place from the 7th to the 15th of October in Quinta do Lago, will be the most important international women's tennis tournament ever in the Algarve.

One year after entering the International Tennis Federation calendar as a $25.000 event, The Campus Carby VW Ladies Open responded to the international organization's appeal and raised the prize-money to $40 this year.

Thus, the new champion will also receive 70 points for the WTA ranking, instead of the 50 attributed in the first edition.

Organized between the 7th and 15th of October, The Campus Carby VW Ladies Open will be the first of three international women's tournaments to take place consecutively in the Algarve.

And it will not only be the most important event of that sequence, but also the most important event ever on the women's circuit to be held in this region of the country, where until now only competitions up to the $25.000 category had taken place.

Even considering all the international tournaments (women's and men's) ever held in the Algarve, The Campus Carby VW Ladies Open 2023 remains one of the most important ever, only surpassed in points and monetary prizes by two tournaments challenger events that took place at the end of the 80's in Vilamoura.
