Tavira has already chosen the winners of the “Green Tourism” photography competition

The photography exhibition can be visited, free of charge, until October 31st

The Municipality of Tavira launched, as part of World Tourism Day, the “Green Tourism” photography competition and has already chosen the winners. 

The initiative “arose with the aim of encouraging photographic activity, stimulating artistic sensitivity, awakening multiple perspectives on the municipality, namely, on tourism, its impact and potential”, says the municipality.

The idea was also «to record different perspectives, namely nature, heritage and people, capturing the importance of a preserved natural heritage, the relevance of communities and practices for the sustainability of the Tavira destination, as well as a critical look at existing and potential green investments”.

The photographs in the competition were framed under Theme A (The color green) and Theme B (Circular economy / Sustainability).

The winners of theme A were José António Oliveira Filipe (1st place), Inês Monteiro Teixeira (2nd place) and Luís Miguel de Araújo Afonso (3rd place)

The winners of theme B were João Belchior Clemente (1st), Cristina Tedim (2nd) and Ângela Maria Lourenço Rosa (3rd).

In this context, a total of 20 photographs were selected, including the winning files, to be part of the exhibition, which opened on September 27th, at the Álvaro de Campos Municipal Library.

The exhibition can be visited, free of charge, until October 31st.
