Loulé promotes new market consultation to buy another 100 homes for public housing

Local authority also intends to acquire properties under construction or to be built

The Municipality of Loulé is promoting a new public consultation on the real estate market with the intention of acquiring an additional 100 units for public housing, as part of the implementation of its Local Housing Strategy 2019-2030.

«The new thing is that, in addition to the dwellings already built (in immediate habitable conditions), the Municipality also intends to acquire others under construction or to be built», highlights the Loulé Council.

All dwellings, types T1, T2 and T3, will be purchased under the protocol signed with the IHRU within the scope of the 1st Law Program and the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), and will be delivered, via notice of competition to be launched in the future, to beneficiaries who meet the defined requirements. The estimated financing is 20 million euros.

In the case of dwellings that are in the construction or design phase, "the construction process must be suitable and ensure the good performance of the dwellings, their thermal and environmental comfort, energy efficiency and water efficiency", explains the municipality.

Natural or legal persons, public or private, national or foreign, with their tax situation regularized before the Tax and Customs Authority and Social Security, who are owners and hold possession of land and buildings located in the municipality of Loulé.

Proposals are submitted using a specific form to be made available on the Municipality of Loulé's website, within 30 days of publication in the Diário da República.

Loulé City Council highlights that «this is the fifth consultation on the real estate market that the Municipality promotes in order to meet the goals set out in its Local Housing Strategy, which, by 2030, foresees the promotion of 1.400 housing solutions».
