The Câmara de Lagos will promote, from the 15th to the 26th of September, a program of activities to mark the beginning of the school year.

Students, teachers, non-teaching staff, educational partners and even guardians are all included in this initiative.

To mark the start of the school year, the official opening session will take place on the 15th of September at the Hotel Vila Galé, by the mayors of the City Council and Municipal Assembly and directors of the two groups of schools, a moment that will also serve to present good practices and perspectives for the new year.

Also that afternoon, the author and coach Pedro Vieira will be the speaker of the motivational lecture “Collaboration and cooperation for educational success”. Participation in these activities aimed at teaching staff (teachers and AEC technicians) and non-teaching staff is subject to registration here

As a way of promoting and preventing mental health, presenter, broadcaster and actor João Paulo Sousa will be with 9th grade and Secondary School students on September 19th for the lecture “This is psychological”, a project of his authorship that is being touring the country's schools.

Parents will be another focus of activities at the start of the school year, with lectures taking place at the XNUMXst Century Paços do Concelho Auditorium (CM Lagos).

For parents of pre-school and 1st cycle students, Emília Marreiros (ARCJ – Reiki Association for Children and Young People), presents the session “Emoções e Afetos – Relação ou Ralação” (September 19, 18 pm), which will address techniques and strategies to face family adversities.

On the 21st (18:30 pm), there will be a talk about “Empowering parents for a more conscious education”, with speakers Sílvia Oliveira and Maria João Freitas, ideal for parents of 2nd and 3rd cycle students who intend to learn training techniques to deal with issues experienced and felt by young people today.

Glória Gonçalves will be the speaker of the lecture “School is over. And now?”, on 22 September (18 pm), to help parents of Secondary School students to better guide their children in their future and path after compulsory schooling.

The three activities for parents and guardians are free, with mandatory registration here

Alongside these initiatives, the municipality will offer didactic games to schools in the two school groups in Lagos, with schools EB 2, 3 in Naus and Tecnopolis being the target of equipping their student rooms.
