Tenders have already opened for the allocation of municipal properties in Lagos, the municipality informed today, September 18th.
In the first phase, competitions will be held for the allocation of 47 municipal dwellings: 24 dwellings under a supported rental regime and 23 dwellings under an affordable rental scheme.
The dwellings in competition are located in Bensafrim (8 dwellings), Sargaçal (9 dwellings), Barão de São João (6 dwellings), Chesgal (12 dwellings) and Cerca do Cemitério (12 dwellings), and applications must be submitted between 18 September and October 16, by filling out the form online.
The procedural programs for allocating housing (“supported rental” and “affordable rental” regimes) include, among other details, the conditions for access to the competition (in relation to the value of the household), situations in which applications are prevented, the rules rent calculation and the legal bases of the lease contract
In a note, the Lagos Chamber states that it has been developing, in recent years, its Local Housing Strategy, within the scope of the “1st Right – Support Program for Access to Housing”, which foresees, among other measures, the construction of 260 homes for rent at controlled costs by 2026, with an increase in this number due to the review of the current strategy.
Housing is, moreover, one of the municipality's priorities, being crucial to guaranteeing access to decent conditions for individuals/households in situations of precariousness, unhealthy conditions, insecurity, overcrowding and inadequacy.
