The Farense coach today promised a determined and ambitious team for Saturday's reception to a Sporting team that “is a pleasure to watch play”, in a match in the seventh round of the Portuguese Football League.

“In the last three games [at home], we have three wins. We want to be in a very good moment and we need to be very focused, very determined, very ambitious, to face this opponent and to come out of this test well. The team will work with the same dedication as in other games, with the same concentration and I think we will give a good response”, said José Mota, at a press conference.

The Algarve team has won three consecutive victories at home, two in the championship (5-0 against Desportivo de Chaves and 3-1 against Sporting de Braga) and one in the League Cup (1-0 against Tondela), and wants to make it count the home factor, in which the support of the fans “will not be lacking” and makes the players “more comfortable”.

“The characteristics of [São Luís Stadium] are something we should take very seriously. We often say that traditions are no longer what they used to be, but we want these traditions to remain. It takes a lot of work for clubs to have the mystique, to have the knowledge, to understand what the club's past is. We tried to interpret this, to know what São Luís' 'hell' was and what we are going to try, against a great opponent, is to enhance these characteristics that Farense has”, highlighted José Mota.

The Farense coach praised Sporting, highlighting that “it is a team with excellent dynamics” and “that has been worked on for three years”.

“Ruben Amorim implemented a game model in which players adapt very easily, they have had excellent performances throughout these times, they have players with greater knowledge of the League, signings have been largely based on athletes from our League and with great potential. Really, this Sporting team is a pleasure to watch play”, he stressed, praising the “good dynamics, both in the interior game and through the corridors”.

Asked in particular about Gyokeres' performances, José Mota recalled the 'lions' performance against Rio Ave (2-0), in which the Swedish striker was absent, stating that he was more worried about the rival team.

“Even in the last game I saw Sporting with great dynamics and playing good football. It is not important who plays, what is important is the work that is done weekly and the dynamics that are created so that, in the game, individualities can prevail. Of course, individuals are always important, but I'm not worried about an individual at Sporting, I'm worried about the team”, he maintained.

Farense, 11th placed, with six points, hosts Sporting, who share the leadership of the League with FC Porto, both with 16 points, in a game scheduled for Saturday, at 20:30 pm, at the São Luís Stadium, in Faro, with arbitration by Luís Godinho, from the Évora Football Association.
