Faro will build new Afonso III Basic School

In addition to the construction of classrooms for these educational levels, spaces such as a library and a multipurpose room will also be built.

Faro will invest around 3 million euros in the construction of the new Afonso III Basic School, which will be built on the premises of the EB 2,3 School that already exists and has the same name. 

The contract was signed on Municipality Day, September 7th.

The contract, awarded to Sociedade Anteros – Empreitadas, Sociedade de Construções e Obras Públicas, SA, has a global value of 3,1 million euros, plus VAT, and an execution period of 450 days.

This new school building for basic education and kindergarten, which will have a total of eight rooms for the first cycle and three rooms for pre-school, will be built on the premises of Escola EB 2, 3 Afonso III.

Still, says the Chamber of Faro, will operate «in an autonomous manner, aimed at developing educational activities for an age range between 3 and 10 years of age».
