Faro has free museums and visits to the Historic Center on World Tourism Day

Already underway is the Mediterranean Diet Route through Faro

Free entry to the Municipal Museum of Faro and at the Algarve Regional Museum, guided visits to the Historic Center and Baixa de Faro and the Mediterranean Diet Route by Faro are part of the program with which the Chamber of Faro will celebrate World Tourism Day, tomorrow, September 27th.

Like entry to the city's museums, guided visits, scheduled for 10am and 00:14pm, will be free. Interested parties just have to register by sending an email to [email protected].

The Farense municipality also joined the In Loco association, «in a unique celebration of Mediterranean culture, with the realization of the Mediterranean Diet Route by Faro, at the Algarve Regional Museum and Praça da Liberdade», an initiative that started today and ends tomorrow.

This event will feature activities for various tastes and with the RDM Market, «which will include exhibition and sale of various regional products (crafts in cork, wood, stone, textiles, ceramics, basketry, footwear, candles, natural soap, food, drinks, among others) and will have the following participants: Janela D'Alma; Secrets of the Algarve; Algoz Footwear Clinic; Portucale.Love; Barroàparede; Bruno Matos; Seed flavors; Chilli Boy Piri Piri; Quinta da Malaca; Two Dogs; Monchique candles; António da Luz; Hippocampus Soap; Asta; Nova Vida and Granny's Flavor».

In 2023, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) chose “Green Tourism & Investments” as the theme for this year's celebrations, «one of the main priorities for the recovery of tourism, future growth and development».

«By holding this event, the aim is to strengthen dialogue between the interior and the coast, one of the main priorities for the recovery of tourism, future growth and development, highlighting the need for more investments aimed at people, the planet and for prosperity, highlighting the importance of finding innovative solutions that promote and sustain economic growth and productivity, thus converging on sustainability goals", concludes the Chamber of Faro.
