Mayors of Aljezur complain to CTT about the service provided in the municipality

This is not the first time that José Gonçalves, mayor of Aljezur, has complained to CTT – now, the presidents of the Parish Councils have also joined

The mayor and the presidents of the parish councils of the municipality of Aljezur wrote an open letter to the executive president of CTT, asking that "solutions" be found quickly to improve the postal service in this municipality.

This is not the first time that José Gonçalves, mayor of Aljezur, has complained to CTT.

In October last year, the mayor expressed, in a letter, his «concern and dissatisfaction with the way services» are operating in the municipality of Aljezur, «where we constantly receive several reports of delays in the delivery of correspondence, to citizens who live in the municipality, as well as the insufficient service provided in the various parishes».

The «constant delays» reached, then, «more than 20 days», with «major inconveniences, mainly with certain and determined type of correspondence that has deadlines to meet».

From CTT, the response, at the time, focused on the difficulty in hiring human resources, «particularly in the Algarve».

The situation has not improved, which also led to the presidents of the Parish Councils of Aljezur, Bordeira, Odeceixe and Rogil now joining the protest, in a new letter.

«About eight months later, the situation in the Municipality of Aljezur in terms of postal distribution, not only did it not stabilize, but it got worse! This is the fact!” they say.

The mayors "beg" the president of CTT to "quickly find solutions that can definitively improve the service and image of CTT in Aljezur, so that its customers can trust and recognize in CTT the added value of their lives".
