The various inspection actions to combat illegal caravanning and wild camping took place yesterday, September 18th, with a special focus on the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park.

«Illegal or irregular camping and caravanning in a protected area can lead to excessive and disorderly occupation of public spaces, coastal areas and areas classified by motorhomes and similar, with negative consequences on the landscape, the environment, spatial planning and public health », emphasizes the GNR, which says it will continue to raise awareness among caravanners and campers to adopt responsible and environmentally friendly behavior, especially in these protected areas.

This operation was carried out by the Portimão Territorial Detachment and was supported by the Maritime Police.
