100 kilos of rubbish collected in underwater cleaning action in Barra de Tavira

Among the several kilos of waste were abandoned fishing gear.

The underwater cleaning action that took place in Barra de Tavira on the morning of this Sunday, September 24th, resulted in the collection of 100 kilos of rubbish, announced the National Maritime Authority (AMN). 

In a statement, AMN states that the local command of the Tavira Maritime Police guaranteed the safety of the five divers who voluntarily collaborated in removing the underwater trash.

The action, promoted by the Oceano Azul Foundation in collaboration with the Tavira City Council, included three members of the Tavira Maritime Police Local Command, supported by a vessel.

Among the several kilograms of waste were abandoned fishing gear.
