Terras do Baixo Guadiana want to create a bioregion and reinforce water storage

Strategy was unanimously approved

The creation of a bioregion, the reinforcement of water storage and the energy transition are some of the main lines of the Baixo Guadiana Strategy 2023, which the Assembly of Partners of the Terras do Baixo Guadiana Association unanimously approved on the 8th of August.

This document, drawn up with "the contributions of the various partners and agents involved" and which had already been discussed at the end of July, is part of the «work to be carried out in the coming years for the municipalities of Mértola, Alcoutim, Castro Marim, Vila Real de Santo António and Tavira».

«This meeting also served to reinforce the need to maintain the territory of intervention by the different entities of gifts, namely from Mértola, highlighting the important role of the social and agricultural sectors», according to Terras do Baixo Guadiana.

At the meeting on the 8th of the association that manages the Local Action Group Terras do Baixo Guadiana, entities from various sectors of activity and with different responsibilities in this territory were present.

«We are now waiting for the 2nd phase, where the Action Plan will be drawn up», concluded the association.
