Ferragudo lifeguard rescues man who fell on rocks at Molhe beach

A man of Spanish nationality who fell while walking on the rocks of Praia do Molhe, in Ferragudo, and was seriously injured in the ankle, was rescued by the lifeguard of this locality in the municipality of Lagoa, yesterday, the 17th, at the end of the afternoon.

The alert for the accidental fall was given around 18:52 and members of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão and the Lifeguard Station of Ferragudo, as well as the Volunteer Firefighters of Lagoa and INEM, were sent to the scene.

«Upon arrival at the scene it was found that the victim, a 45-year-old man of Spanish nationality, had a serious injury to his right lower limb, in the ankle area, and the crew of the Lifeguard Station carried out the rescue by sea. , as it is located in an area of ​​difficult access by land», described the National Maritime Authority.

The victim was transported to the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station, "where first aid was provided by INEM personnel before being transported by the Lagoa Volunteer Firefighters to a hospital".

The local command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
