The “Quarteira Longevity with Quality” program already has applications open for the next school year.
Designed to «optimize health, combat isolation, improve quality of life and encourage a process of
active and participative ageing», the dates of the program vary according to the areas of activity.
«The Quarteira Longevity with Quality Program has achieved extraordinary results and year after year we realize that people want to get more and more involved in the activities we offer, making it necessary to adapt the modules and innovate in that same sense», says the president of the Board of Parish of Quarteira Telmo Pinto.
Academia do Saber is an initiative that works through weekly theoretical and practical classes, such as History, Languages, Health, Visual Arts, among many others, taught by volunteer monitors.
In addition to classes, visits, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, picnics and theme parties are promoted.
The Senior and Community Theaters are promoted by Coletivo JAT – Janela Aberta Teatro, social dances by Associação Arabesque Family and senior gymnastics by Associação Movimento é Vida.
Program
Academia do Saber (+50 years): 1st phase from 4th to 15th September and 2nd phase from 9th October
Senior Theater (+60 years): 1st phase from August 28th to September 8th and 2nd phase from
from the 21st of September.
Community Theater (for all ages): year-round
Social Dances (Singles/Couples +50 years old): 1st phase from August 28th to September 8th
September and 2nd phase from September 21st
Senior Gymnastics (+50 years old): from August 28th
