Quarteiras can now benefit from a new legal service through the Parish Council, which will be the point of contact between citizens and the Arbitration Center of Universidade Lusófona (CAUL). The cases covered may be of a family, consumer, neighborhood, work, administrative, sports and health service nature nature.
Mediation can be carried out online, with the possibility of resorting to videoconferencing, at the premises of the Parish, since CAUL's headquarters are located in Lisbon. The process will always be accompanied by experienced referees and UAL professors and researchers.
«This service allows municipalities to function as a facilitator and aid vehicle, so that all citizens have equal access to the means necessary to solve matters of a legal nature», says Telmo Pinto, president of the Board of Parish of Quarteira.
This cooperation results from the need to respond to the increase in the number of lawsuits and offer a fair and accessible solution to all citizens.
The municipality of Quarteira is one of the 3000 parishes associated with this protocol which, regardless of their size, now have access to a specialized legal service.
