Portimão Bike Race promotes leisure cycling

Participants will pedal at their own pace along the entire length of the routes

Registration for the second edition of the Portimão Bike Race, scheduled for the 10th and 17th of September, is now open. The initiative aims to encourage the practice of leisure cycling on the road and mountain biking.

On the 10th of September, the Granfondo (125 km) and Mediofondo (75 km) races will take place in the road cycling modalities, starting at 9:00 am at the Portimão Arena and whose registration closes on the 5th, having to be done on the website https://apedalar.pt, costing 29 euros.

 

For the 17th of September, the MTB marathon (60 km) and the MTB half marathon (45 km) events were scheduled, starting at 9:00 am at the Mexilhoeira Grande Sports Complex, closing the respective registrations on the 12th, also on the same day. website, for the cost of 15 euros.

Federated and non-federated cyclists, cycle sportsmen and cycle tourists of both sexes, between 17 and 70 years old, can participate in these two events, as stipulated in the regulation, available together with additional information here.

 

 

In all cases, participants will pedal at their own pace along the entire length of the routes, the time it takes them to complete all the outlined routes being timed by electronic means (chip), thus constituting the Portimão Bike Race Cup an optional trophy for who intends to participate in the two mentioned modalities.

It is a joint organization between TRP – Associação Trail Runners Portimão and GARRA – Grupo de Amigos Rodas do Rio Arade, which have the support of the Municipality of Portimão and ACA – Associação de Ciclismo do Algarve, in addition to partnerships Onebike, G-ride, Portimão Firefighters, PSP, GNR, Decathlon Portimão and Única – Adega Cooperativa do Algarve.
