It can start to be used from today in regional services at national level

The new National Rail Pass valid for all regional trains, worth 49 euros, comes into force today, following a proposal from Livre included in the State Budget for this year.

At issue is the implementation of a measure included in the State Budget for 2023 (OE2023), following a proposal by Livre.

The new pass costs 49 euros, can be loaded monthly, like any other title of this type, and does not accumulate with other discounts, explained CP.

On Friday, Livre's spokesman, Rui Tavares, announced that the party will propose in the State Budget for 2024 the extension of the National Rail Pass to inter-regional, intercity or suburban trains.

“It is a measure for the cohesion of the country, it is an ecological measure (...) but it is perhaps above all an anti-inflation measure: these savings are reflected in the wallets of families, of the Portuguese”, defended Rui Tavares, in an action at the Estação Lisbon-Santa Apolónia Railway.
