Faro is the city chosen for the third school of the Lisbon School of Design (LSD), which will open in the 2023/2024 academic year, with classes beginning in October, and which will be close to cultural institutions and companies linked to design.
With more than five thousand trained students, of different nationalities, LSD refers that «the adhesion to face-to-face courses in Lisbon and Porto of a considerable number of students from the Algarve supported the decision
of expansion to the South".
The opening of LSD Faro aims to boost creative and specialized design training, as well as creating partnerships with local and regional industry for future designers.
« The expansion to Faro it is a commitment we assume to provide quality training and more growth opportunities for students interested in design. We are excited to contribute to developing creative talent in Faro and to promote the design sector in the south of Portugal», says Pedro Mendonça, managing director of LSD.
«We are interested in how students leave, not how they arrive. That is, there are no prerequisites, from the age of 18, and whatever the basic training or professional path, everyone can be a designer at our school», he also said.
Founded in 2009, Lisbon School of Design is a Professional Training company in the area of design, present in Lisbon, Porto and, now, Faro.
The school offers a variety of annual and short-term courses, with no registration prerequisites, and applies a methodology “Learning by doing” which simulates the real work environment in atelier and agency and provides students with a learning experience with close and specialized monitoring.
