Fires postponed the premiere of the performance installation “Acordar Memórias” in Aljezur

The debut of the performance installation “Acordar Memórias”, in Aljezur, has been postponed from mid-August to the 24th, due to the recent fires that affected the municipality, announced Tertúlia — Associação Socio-Cultural de Aljezur.

“Awaking Memories” is presented as “an immersive and timeless experience that transcends time, uniting the emotional fibers of the senior community of Aljezur”.

This itinerant event will travel through the four parishes of the municipality of Aljezur – Odeceixe, Rogil, Aljezur and Bordeira -, providing an «intimate encounter with the essence of our community».

«Weaving the web of time with the mastery of our artisans – participants of Entrelaçar (Municipal Program integrated in the Senior Agenda of the Council) and under the guidance of various artists (choreographers, set designers, musicians, plastic artists and others) – traditions, knowledge and narratives, merging different artistic languages. The participants, true guardians of memories and storytellers, reveal the sacred threads that unite the times gone by with those to come», explains Tertúlia.

To the sound of ancient chants, chanted by iron silhouettes arranged in a circle, reminiscent of the village dances, «we will witness a poetic dialogue that transcends the barriers of time».

The initiative starts on the 24th, at Praceta Kurnach, in Aljezur, where, at 19 pm on that day and on the 00th of August, the performance will take place. The installation, for its part, can be seen between these dates, from 29 am to 10 pm.

Afterwards, “Acordar Memórias” goes to Carrapateira (Almargem), where it premieres on the 2nd of September (at 19:00 there will be a performance), and the installation will continue until the 4th.

It will then be at Rogil, next to the Clube de Instrução e Recreio Rogilense, from the 7th to the 10th of September, with a performance on the first day (19 pm).

Finally, it will arrive at the Odeceixe floodplain, from the 14th to the 17th of September, also with the performance scheduled for the first of these days (19 pm).
