An exhibition that brings together the images awarded in the Prêmio Estação Imagem 2022 Coimbra, considered the main Iberian photojournalism competition, will be inaugurated in the old Lota de Portimão, on August 19th, Friday, at 18:30

This exhibition, which will be open between the 20th of August and the 15th of October, follows the World Press Photo, which can still be seen until August 16, also in the old auction of Portimão, and which is taking place, according to the Portimon municipality, with "success"

The exhibition that will be inaugurated this month brings together the images distinguished by the international jury of the award, to which Portuguese, Galician and Portuguese-speaking African professionals, or other nationalities who work in these same territories, can compete.

Adra Pallón, a Galician photojournalist who in 2022 covered several fires in Portugal and Spain, was the winner of the 13th edition of the award, with the work “Lume e Cinza”, while Rui Duarte Silva, from the weekly Expresso, won in the News category, with the report “Ukraine: Marks of War”.

In a year marked by the invasion of Ukrainian territory by Russian troops and the violence of forest fires, the jury also awarded photojournalists Leonel de Castro/Contemporary Affairs, José Sarmento Matos/Vida Quotidiana, Brais Lourenzo Couto/Ambiente, Alex Paganelli/Portraits , and David Tiago/Desporto.

With free admission and produced by Associação Cultural Música XXI, co-organized by Estação Imagem and Coimbra City Council, this exhibition has the Municipality of Portimão as an itinerant partner and can be visited at the following times: from 20 August to 3 September – 19 pm at 00:24; from the 00th to the 4rd of September: 23 pm to 16 pm; from the 00th of September to the 21st of October – 00 pm to 24 pm; from the 1nd to the 14th of October – 00:19 am to 00:2 pm.
