Seafood Festival returns to Olhão with a renovated venue

Festival takes place between the 10th and 14th of August

The Seafood Festival is back in Olhão, between the 10th and 14th of August, with a renovated venue.

The main stage will face west, which meant that it was not necessary to cut traffic on Avenida 5 de Outubro in one of the directions, as was the case in the past. Due to the restructuring of Jardim Pescador Olhanense, the Municipality says that it managed to gain space in the enclosure «to make this improvement and the cutting of parking spaces was also minimal».

In this way, in addition to the thousands of parking spaces on the east and west sides of this avenue (more than 2000), some free and others paid, it will be easier to get to the Festival to taste the shellfish and bivalves of the Ria Formosa.

The enclosure, which opens at 19:30 pm, welcomes main concerts from 23:00. David Carreira is the first to step onto the Festival's new stage, on the night of the 10th of August, followed by a Tribute to Tina Turner, on the 11th of August, Bárbara Bandeira, on the 12th, Wet Bed Gang, on the 13th, and Vítor Kley closes the Festival on the 14th of August.

David Carreira brings his 2023 Tour to Olhão. On stage, the artist, who last year celebrated a decade of his career, will perform some of the tracks from his most recent work, such as “Vamos com Tudo”, “Festa” or “Saturno ”.

On the 11th of August, Jardim Pescador Olhanense will host a show with the voice of Sónia Costa bringing to life the greatest hits of the recently deceased queen of rock, Tina Turner.

Currently airplay champion with the theme “Como Tu”, singer and songwriter Bárbara Bandeira will also be part of the Festival.

The Portuguese rap group Wet Bed Gang, which performs on August 13, is composed of four Portuguese singers and rappers, with the stage names Gson, Zara G, Kroa and Zizzy Jr. After their first success, “Não Tens Visto”, they gained recognition in the national hip-hop scene.

The last day of the Seafood Festival brings sounds from Brazil. After performing at Sol da Caparica, the Brazilian singer and composer heads south. The voice of “O Sol” promises to bring Olhão some of his biggest hits, ranging from Brazilian gospel to pop.

Seafood will be the main protagonist these days in Olhão, crabs, lobsters, crayfish, spider crabs, prawns,
clams, oysters or clams, among others, will not be missing. In addition to seafood, there will be salads, soups (fish and seafood), hamburgers and various sandwiches for sale at the venue.

The restaurant at the Real Marina Hotel & Spa will once again be present at the Seafood Festival, as well as the famous caipirinhas and the Kids Club.

Another novelty will be the possibility of buying everything necessary for dinner on the same stand: seafood, drinks, bread or butter. Drinks, in addition to these locations, continue to be sold at Super Bock spaces.

In homage to the main product of this event, visitors will also be presented with a sculptural piece – a mug and a giant shrimp -, created by plastic artist from Olhão, Igor Nunes Silva.

There will also be a Ticketline area where visitors can play and win many prizes.
