Nuts are once again the kings of another edition of the Fair, which will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of September, at Largo da Junta de Freguesia de Alcantarilha, in the municipality of Silves.
The Dry Fruits Fair, which is now in its 20th edition, is co-organized by the Municipality of Silves and the Union of Parishes of Alcantarilha and Pêra.
This event, which has as its main objective the promotion of traditional local and regional products, with main emphasis on dried fruits such as almonds, figs and carob, has a program of musical animation, an ethnographic exhibition of customs and traditions of Alcantarilha, entertainment, live music, children's area, sweets, crafts and taverns.
The Dry Fruit Fair takes place in Largo da Junta de Freguesia, from 18 pm to 00 am, on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday, from 2 pm to 00 am, with some of the shows taking place in the Alcantarilha Bandstand.
The Commission for the event includes Casa do Povo de Alcantarilha, Pêra and Armação de Pêra, Sociedade Recreativa Alcantarilhense, GADAG, Grupo Aventura e Esporte de Alcantarilha Gare, Parish of Alcantarilha Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Alcantarilha, ALDEPA Association for the Defense of Cultural Heritage and Born in Alcantarilha.
