Farense lost 3-0 to Casa Pia, on their return to the First Football League, this Saturday, August 12th, in a game played at Estádio São Luís, in Faro.
José Mota bet on only one reinforcement in the starting 11: right defender Fran Delgado. With thousands of fans in the stands, the game even started balanced, but Casa Pia would reach the advantage in the 15th minute.
The Algarve's Leonardo Lelo took a corner on the right, with Clayton appearing in the heart of the area and heading into the back of the net.
Farense knew how to react and even tied soon after, through Rui Costa. But VAR annulled the offside goal from the striker of the Algarve.
In the second half, despite changes in the team, the Algarve were even worse in the game. There was always a lack of definition of the bids, with Casa Pia being a more mature team.
In the 65th minute, Lisbon scored again. Pablo Roberto shot from afar, surprising Ricardo Velho. The goalkeeper of the Algarve did not look good in the photograph.
Already without great criteria, the Algarve still suffered another. At 89', Godwin – the man of the match – won a penalty that he converted himself, sealing the final result at 0-3.
Farense did not start the league well and, on the next round, will visit FC Porto at Estádio do Dragão.
