The Great Bearing Car Race takes place on September 17th, starting at 15pm, on Rua Francisco Bivar, in Mexilhoeira Grande (Portimão). This year, there is also a night race with a “F00 Super Special”.
After the success of previous editions, the “craziest race” of its kind, according to the organizers, will feature dozens of handcrafted cars.
This year's race will have as a great novelty the introduction of an extra night test, scheduled for 21 pm on September 30 and comprising the Super Special F16 descent, which will connect Mexilhoeira Grande to Figueira via the Estrada – or Ladeira – da Fonte.
The classification will have five categories, due to the diversity and creativity of the cars (Traditional, Allegorical, Children, F1 and General), with the vehicles built by the drivers themselves in any material that makes it possible to take advantage of the force of gravity, in format and with the decor as you like.

During the two days of the event, the musical entertainment will have the following line-up: September 16th – sunset with dj M. Lopes (18 pm) and 00Revival band (4:22 pm), September 45th – djs “O Louco e o Fusco” (on the curve of the Jardim da Estátua, around 17:15 pm), performance by David Dias (15:19 pm) and the band Generation XXI (00:21 pm).
The event is organized by CIRM – Clube de Instrução e Recreação Mexilhoeirense, with the support of the Municipality of Portimão and the Parish Council of Mexilhoeira Grande.
