The Association of Hunters "Os Quatro Unidos", headquartered in the parish of Alte, is already part of the Municipal Device for the Defense of the Forest Against Fires.
After signing the protocol with the Municipality of Loulé, this device now has 19 associations and clubs of hunters in the municipality.
The signed agreement provides for a set of incentives and support mechanisms for hunters to be active agents in protecting the forest space.
Within the scope of this protocol, the Autarchy will also allocate a financial contribution for the purchase of the first fire intervention equipment kit and provide a training course for the members of that association to learn how to handle it.
«This partnership with hunters has been an added value in surveillance, prevention and first intervention actions, as well as in supporting the fight against rural fires, and this is thanks to the deep knowledge that hunters have of the territory», emphasizes the Municipality of Loulé.
