The Vilamoura Tennis and Padel Academy is hosting the National Individual SUB 12 Tennis Championship, which started yesterday, July 8th, and runs until July 15th.
The first day, which had 58 scheduled meetings, was managed by the referee Paulo Oliveira and assistants Hernâni Valente and Bruno Rodrigues.
In the women's qualifying phase, the highlights were the triumphs of Maria Pilar Ferreira and Alice Rosas Viana (Oporto Cricket & LTC), who left Valentina Sanchez (Ace Team) and Gabriela Jucan (CT Lagos) behind.
Laura Gaspar (Carcavelos T) and Lúcia Gonçalves (CTVRS António) were also successful, with the former defeating debutant Pandora Jorge (CT Sudoeste), 6-0 and 6-2, while the Algarve benefited from the abandonment of Madalena Silva (ET Maia), when leading by 5-4 in the first match.
As for the qualifying male concerns, João Vicente Pinto (CT Porto), Martim Leão (CT Esmoriz), Tomás Viana (Oporto Cricket & LTC), Salvador Uva (CAD), Dimitri Balbi (ET São Domingos), Pedro Vieira da Silva (CT Setúbal) , Tomás Cormos (CT Loulé), Filipe Dominguez (CTVRS António) and João Champalimaud (Qt.ª Marinha RC) are already in the third round, after overcoming their opponents.
For today, 48 meetings are scheduled.
