Tavira will implement a «medium and long-term» cultural strategy

The plan will be completed by the end of this year.

The Tavira Council will start this month with the “Tavira Cultura 2030” plan, which aims to implement a «medium and long-term» municipal cultural strategy.

This process, which is intended to be participatory and in collaboration with local cultural agents, aims to contribute to «making Tavira an attractive, identitary, inclusive and sustainable municipality that promotes its heritage, reinforces its culture and traditions, values its endogenous resources and tourist offers, thus reinforcing its competitiveness on a regional, national and international scale».

The plan will be completed by the end of this year and will be developed by a multidisciplinary team comprising technicians from the municipality and external experts.

«As focuses of this open process, the importance of the Mediterranean Diet as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and Tavira as a Representative Community of Portugal stand out, as well as the reopening of the Cineteatro António Pinheiro», says the municipality.
