Young Algarve pilot Francisco Barreto seeks evolution in Baja Aragón

The prologue takes place on Friday morning, followed by the first of three selective sectors

The young Algarve pilot Francisco Barreto will be present in Baja Aragón, fourth round of the Cross-Country World Cup, which starts this Friday, July 21st, in the Teruel region, in Spain.

Navigated as usual by the experienced Carlos Silva, the pilot makes his foray behind the wheel of the Toyota Hilux T1+ after a difficult but enriching experience in Baja Italia, where he had the support of the new team for the first time, the Overdrive Racing.

“After the first contact with the Toyota Hilux T1+ in Baja Italia, where I encountered some problems with not knowing the race and the car, I am very motivated to look for the maximum evolution already in Baja Aragón”, said the pilot, who is the grandson of the late hotel entrepreneur Fernando Barata.

“I know this is a difficult race, especially this year, when it was reduced to just two days. However, as a team, we defined a plan and a goal that I want to do my best to fulfill. This is a race more in the style of the races we face in Portugal and in which I have already participated, which makes me more motivated and confident”, guaranteed Francisco Barreto.

Baja Aragón will have a total of 875,08 kilometers, of which 512,50 are timed.

The technical and administrative checks for the race will take place this Thursday, after a Shakedown carried out in conjunction with the Overdrive Racing that took place yesterday.

The prologue takes place on Friday morning, followed by the first of three selective sectors. The podium ceremony is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, where, after completing the last two sectors, the winners' party will take place.
