A 13-year-old German youth, who suffered a broken leg after diving from a cliff, was rescued this Friday afternoon, July 28, at Praia do Carvalho, in the municipality of Lagoa.
The alert was received at 15:30.
Members of the Portimão Maritime Police, crew from the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station, a team from the INEM Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER), members of the Lagos Volunteer Firefighters and the Lifeguards on duty at the beach.
Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was found to be 'conscious'.
The young man was later rescued and transported to the Ferragudo pier, by the Ferragudo Lifeguard, where an INEM ambulance was waiting, which transported him to the hospital.
The local command of the Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
