From today until July 28, approximately two dozen beaches along the coast and river beaches will receive the new edition of “Recicla Mania”.
The giant game dedicated to Recycling, promoted by Sociedade Ponto Verde (SPV), is back to raise awareness and, not forgetting fun, to amuse thousands of children who, as part of holiday camps or with their families, spend their mornings in beach.
The “Recicla Mania”, which in its first edition had the participation of approximately 2 thousand young people, will again provide unforgettable moments of conviviality and sharing, with the little ones being able to test what they know about recycling. “Where does the plastic from cereal bars go?”, “What is the order of the 3 R's?” or “Do you know what happens to packages when they are placed in the ecopoint?” are some of the questions that will be asked to those who accept this challenge from SPV.
Unlike traditional games, “Recycle Mania” has the specificity of making children and young people the true pawns of the game, moving until they reach the goal. After throwing the dice, they move forward through the different boxes, which have the colors of the ecopoints (green, blue and yellow), where, in some, questions will be asked and doubts clarified.
For the Marketing & Communication coordinator at Sociedade Ponto Verde, “young people are the influencers of the future and Recicla Mania is, currently, one of our main actions to approach younger age groups.”
“We know that raising awareness continues to be very important so that our day-to-day packaging is recycled more and better and, therefore, we want to take advantage of the summer period to be close to the children and young people who will enjoy the beach in this time of year, reinforcing that we should recycle wherever we are. Through this game, we teach about packaging recycling in a fun way and encourage the correct use of ecopoints, equipment that is also already found in these places,” concludes Ricardo Sacoto Lagoa.
“Recicla Mania” highlights the mission and active role of Sociedade Ponto Verde in promoting Environmental Literacy, with a focus on raising awareness among young people of the importance of separating packaging at any time and in any place, in this case on the beach, a of natural ecosystems that must be preserved. Through these lessons learned, it is intended that everyone, collectively, adopt the best practices and be able to make their contribution to the goals of packaging recycling.
