Joana Nascimento's ex-boyfriend has already been arrested for the crime of qualified homicide

Joana Nascimento's ex-boyfriend, who stabbed her in the neck, in Lagoa, on June 15, when the 26-year-old was leaving home for work, was arrested for the crime of qualified homicide, the Judiciary Police announced today.

To what Sul Informação As it turned out, the decision to detain her ex-boyfriend, aged 21, came after the results of the autopsy were known, which concluded that Joana died, about a week later, “as a result of a generalized infection, caused by the aggressions suffered”.

The Judiciary recalls, in a statement, that, on the morning of 15 June, "when the victim was inside his vehicle, the suspect, for not accepting the end of a romantic relationship, surprised her and hit her, with a white weapon, in the neck, causing injuries».

«Although injured, the victim managed to flee the scene and request help from a commercial establishment, ending up being taken to the Hospital of Portimão, where she was assisted».

Joana ended up being discharged that same day, but «she would be hospitalized a week later, in the same hospital unit and, later, helitransported to Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon, where she died, as a result of a generalized infection, caused by the attacks suffered".

The detainee will be present at the first judicial interrogation so that coercive measures can be applied to him.

The investigation is carried out by the Public Ministry of Portimão.
